I'm an American and a U.S. Army Veteran and, in my opinion, a patriot. America is MY country and I'm proud of it. Even when we have problems as a country as we have had during the Biden administration. That's the government's fault, not the country's. America has always stood for freedom and bravery and a great way of life. Our flag symbolizes these traits and so does the American Eagle.

The eagle was first used as a symbol for America because it stood for strength. The eagle is, probably the strongest bird in the sky and won't take crap from any other. So it's fitting to have the eagle as our National Bird.

There's something beautiful about an eagle statue. Over my lifetime, I have been an animal lover and I can sit for hours and watch our dog and cat playing or watch the animals in the wild. Where we live, the deer come up almost to our door. We have had birds as pets and I found them very smart creatures. The wild birds, plus other critters out there are very smart as they have to be to survive. They have earned my respect.

I have collected eagle statuary for many years. When I had my hobby and gift business, I managed to get more. My wife owned a bird store where she sold exotic birds and supplies. So birds have not been strangers to us both.

This blog highlights my bird figures. It's not a large collection as compared to some folks. And it's not a collection of fine arts either. It's simply what I have gotten over the years. Hope you enjoy them. And, as always, thanks for stopping by ~
